Dutch painter (b. 1633, Leiden, d. 1707, London). was a Dutch marine painter. Willem van de Velde was baptised on 18 December 1633 in Leiden, Holland, Dutch Republic. A son of Willem van de Velde the Elder, also a painter of sea-pieces, Willem van de Velde, the younger, was instructed by his father, and afterwards by Simon de Vlieger, a marine painter of repute at the time, and had achieved great celebrity by his art before he came to London. In 1673 he moved to England, where he was engaged by Charles II, at a salary of £100, to aid his father in "taking and making draughts of sea-fights", his part of the work being to reproduce in color the drawings of the elder van de Velde. He was also patronized by the Duke of York and by various members of the nobility. He died on 6 April 1707 in London, England. Most of Van de Velde's finest works represent views off the coast of Holland, with Dutch shipping. His best productions are delicate, spirited and finished in handling, and correct in the drawing of the vessels and their rigging. Alexei Korzukhin
(1835-1894) was Russian painter. A Korzukhin 000.JPG Korzukhin was born in Yekaterinburg on March 23, 1835. In 1858 he began his studies in the St. Petersburg in the Imperial Academy of Arts. In 1860, Korzukhin won his first award for the painting his The Drunken Father. In 1864, he help found Petersburg Artel of Artists - the "Revolt of Fourteen". Korzukhin has received a rank of the artist of the First Degree for his painting Commemoration on a Rural Cemetery (1865). For The Return of the Father from Fair, he received a rank of the academician. In 1870, he became a founding member of the art group 'The Wanderers. In 1891 he painted The Lord's Supper for a cathedral in Riga. Korzukhin is perhaps most famous for his many portraits, each of which is characterized to have a subtle psychological depth. For this reason they are generally accepted as masterpieces of Russian portrait painting. Alexei Korzukhin died in St. Petersburg on October 30, 1894.

1852 in Wieliczka ?C January 9, 1916 in Krak??w) was a Polish painter. From 1868 to 1873, he followed Władysław Luszczkiewicz classes in the Fine art school of Krakow. Later, he was in Vienna and Munich and in J??zef Brandt's atelier. In 1877, he travelled to Paris and Near East. In 1882, he lived in Vienna, where he worked for the aristocracy. In 1883, he went to London, where he made Prince of Wales' portrait. In 1884, to Constantinople, he was sultan Abdhulhamid II's guest. And he woked later in Sofia, Saint Petersburg and Bucharest. He joined the Polish Legions in 1914, during World War I, and he died in one of the battles of this war. He's first cousin was Zygmunt Ajdukiewicz.
